Dirt Bag Designs is a collective of outdoorsfolk with a passion for design and a hankering to build. That being said, our products are not designed in a vacuum. Our designs are the result of lessons learned during adventures and misadventures alike. We know that when you’re out in the backwoods, establishing a cohesive base camp is key. Whether your rig is a weekender warrior mobile or full time home, our systems provide the necessary assets for comfortable living on the road or in the wild.
The seed for Dirt Bag Designs was planted when the co-founders met while attending Carnegie Mellon University. Hunter was completing a Masters in Mechanical Engineering while Harry was obtaining his Bachelor of Architecture. The two shared a passion for outdoor pursuits as well as design and engineering. Hunter and Harry built out their first van, a 2001 Chevy Express 3500. After traveling across the U.S. in the chevy, the pair began careers in the engineering and fabrication industries. Since then, they have designed and built out a wide range of adventure rigs, from a 1000cc Suzuki Carry to chase swells in Chile as well as a Toyota Tacoma to chase fresh tracks in the states.
With years of fabrication and design experience behind them, Hunter and Harry are looking to make car camping more accessible and comfortable for a wider audience of dirt bags.
